From Monday, traffic will be moving through the Schutt again

Final spurt on the schutt: starting next monday, traffic should be able to roll through the important inner-city street again. This was announced by mayor german hacker at the meeting of the main committee on wednesday evening. The relocation of the bus station will follow by the 11. December, right on time for the timetable change.

In the meeting a final award was made: the construction of a snack bar building. The contract was awarded to the company holz& roof project fehse from gersdorf for the amount of 98 500 euro. The building will be a wood-frame construction, explained gerhard merkel, the head of the building office.

Two operators will offer their goods there. As mayor german hacker stated, the vietnamese family, which was already represented at the site, will probably come again to the benefit. Many people have asked in the past whether they can stay. The name of the second operator has not yet been mentioned.

As merkel explained, the building should be ready by march. Originally, a container construction was planned, but this was abandoned after consultation with the government and the specialist planner. That would have been too expensive. Eight companies showed interest in the public invitation to tender, of which five submitted bids. The most expensive was 161 000 euros.

On the area in front of the parking deck, however, a lot will happen by christmas. So the steel buildings should already stand, so the bicycle stand and the bus stop. Christmas is also an important date for the small square at the end of ritzgasse facing erlanger strabe. Because by then the glass wall should be erected. Then the plane tree can be planted, which will replace the previous smaller tree.

By christmas, the parking lot of the secondary school should be restored to its original condition. This is the temporary location of the bus station, which will return to the rubble in the coming weeks. The construction work in the strabe on the schutt itself is, despite the release from monday, not yet completely finished. According to mayor hacker there are still some remaining works and markings to be done on the parking lots in front of the brewery heller.

In the meeting hacker defended the execution. "It has to have a good view", he said, in unfamiliar french. A hardware store would not do it there at all. An operator could not generate these costs either. "We must remain fair", said the mayor regarding the rent, which should not be too high.
