Johannes halkenhauser celebrates his 90th birthday. Birthday

At 1. May celebrated pastor i. R. Johannes halkenhauser celebrates his 90th birthday in wiesentheid. Birthday with many guests who have accompanied him for part of his long life. As one of the first congratulators, the mayor werner knaier offered the congratulations of the market and toasted with the jubilarian to many more healthy years to come.
Johannes halkenhauser, born on 1. May 1929, grew up in kelheim. After graduating from high school in regensburg, he studied protestant theology in regensburg and erlangen. He later received his doctorate from the future bishop of wurzburg, paul werner scheele. As the "highest vicar of bavaria" he worked for three and a half years in the municipality of garmisch-grainau, to which the zugspitze also belonged.
After completing his vicariate in furth and spending several months studying in england, halkenhauser switched to teaching in 1958 and taught as an enthusiastic and inspiring religion teacher at wurzburg grammar schools. The memory of these beautiful "school days" is still kept alive today by the lively contact with many former schoolmates.
1967 rev. Halkenhauser from the school service and, called by the communitat casteller ring under its founder mater christel schmid, moved to the mountain as schwanberg pastor and principal of what was then the berufsaufbaugeschule (vocational school). He saw the foundation and advancement of ecumenism and the shaping of the liturgy as the focal points of his work, borne by his interest in the religious order and benedictine spirituality. During his 25 years in office, he also built the michaelskirche, a wonderful place of worship for the community of CR and many of its worshippers.
From 1992, rev. Halkenhauser an active retirement in wurzburg, u. A. As a staff member at i-punkt kirche, the information center of both mainline christian churches, and as a preacher at the ecumenical noon service at the cathedral.
After getting married and building a house, the jubilarian moved his residence to wiesentheid in 2010 – with a view of the schwanberg mountain. He enjoys his twilight years there, mentally and physically "in good shape" in the garden, with walks, occasional travels and lots of lectures.
